Llandillo cattle going on to win at the highest levels — and the next generation of breeders building their studs from our genetics.
The measure of a stud is what happens after the cattle leave the gate.
Across every client who has purchased from Llandillo — whether rebuilding a stud after decades away, starting fresh, or looking for their next show heifer — the results speak for themselves. Royal champions, Grand Champions, and a generation of young exhibitors finding their feet with Llandillo genetics in their halter. We are proud of every one of them.
Andrew Quirk came to Llandillo in 2022 with a clear goal — rebuild Pinnacle Poll Herefords after twenty years out of the industry. He purchased four foundation heifers at Dubbo, including Llandillo Aster S056 at $14,000 top price.
What followed is one of the most remarkable turnarounds in the breed. S056 returned to Llandillo for show preparation and went on to win Grand Champion Female at Canberra Royal 2024, then Grand Champion Female at Sydney Royal 2024 just four weeks later. In that same Sydney campaign, S056's first flush daughter Pinnacle Aster U073 took out Reserve Champion Female.
Andrew continued building — three more heifers and the Ridge JR PTIC embryo in Llandillo's About Dam Time Sale. At Dubbo Show, Pinnacle Tiger Tank was Grand Champion and Pinnacle Boomer Reserve Junior Champion — both first calves from Llandillo-purchased females, both by Llandillo Soldier S042.
Kelevu Estate came to Llandillo to build their stud from scratch, purchasing seven females across two years. Among them was Llandillo Vanessa P130 — a daughter of M038 who had already impressed as a calf at foot at the Sydney Royal.
P130 wasted no time. Shortly after arriving at Kelevu she was named Junior Champion Heifer at the National Junior Poll Hereford Show in Parkes in 2019. Kelevu brought her back to Sydney Royal in 2021 and she took out Reserve Senior Champion Female — a result that vindicated every decision that led to her purchase.
The Janlin Poll Hereford name carries history — it was Andrew's parents' stud, sold up in 2002 during the drought. When the time came to bring it back, Andrew and 5 Bears Beef turned to Llandillo.
In Llandillo's About Dam Time Sale they purchased four females and a PTIC recipient to restart the Janlin stud with quality foundations. Llandillo Blush U043 was equal top price at $9,000 — and she wasted no time making a statement, winning Intermediate Champion Heifer at both the National Hereford Youth Show and the National All Breeds Junior Heifer Show in 2024.
Roseview Poll Herefords' relationship with Llandillo goes back to 2019 when they purchased Llandillo Flynny — a Columbus bull who went on to work over stud cows and leave his mark on the Roseview herd.
The connection deepened when Roseview won the 100 Club heifer at Llandillo — Llandillo Silky V057, a Grathlyn Pacemaker daughter from our Silky family. V057 went on to be crowned Grand Champion Female at Canberra Royal 2026, putting the Silky family on the map at the highest level of the breed and proving the strength of the genetics Roseview had invested in.
The top photo was taken at Will's very first Herefords Australia National Youth Expo at Wodonga in 2018 — Junior Champion Parader. He was still at school, working with us at Llandillo, and already showing what kind of stockman he was going to become.
The bottom photo is four years later — Wodonga 2022. Will is on the left with Llandillo Soldier S042, Champion Bull at the National Hereford Youth Show. Beside him is Max White with Llandillo Julie S024, Grand Champion Female. Judged by Tim Lord of KO Angus. Soldier went on to win Champion of Champions at Canberra Royal 2023 and sold for $17,000. Julie sold to Pinnacle Poll Herefords for $13,000.
Will took his own heifer — Llandillo Silky P013 — to Sydney Royal in 2019 and won his class. He is now Llandillo's full-time stockman. His story is a reminder that what we do here goes beyond the cattle.
Harrison and Samuel Guy have been building GCC Herefords since 2022, purchasing show heifers from Llandillo each year for the show circuit.
Samuel Guy with Llandillo Diana — a heifer purchased from Llandillo who has gone on to prove herself at every level of competition. From Blayney Show to the Nationals, Diana has been the cornerstone of the GCC show team.
A Grathlyn Pacemaker daughter from the Jenny line, purchased at Dubbo for $8,000. Jenny S148 has settled in well at GCC — the boys are now showing her progeny, the next step in building their stud from Llandillo foundations.
Samuel Guy showing Llandillo Silky P095 at the National All Breeds Junior Heifer Show in Dubbo. Four years of purchasing show heifers from Llandillo — Harrison and Samuel Guy are establishing GCC Herefords as a stud to watch on the junior circuit.
Harrison Guy at the National Hereford Youth Show in 2023 — the older of the Guy brothers and equally at home in the ring. Harrison and Samuel have been coming to Llandillo for their show heifers since 2022, building GCC Herefords one heifer at a time. It's exactly the kind of junior program that keeps the breed strong.
"The Llandillo family extends well beyond the front gate — it's the studs rebuilding, the kids showing, the stockmen learning their craft."
